La Zarzuela, Inc. delivers state-of-the-art cultural and educational programs. The Organization is actively involved in preservation and research efforts.
Baroque Zarzuela
Most of the zarzuelas performed today date from the nineteenth or twentieth centuries. However, Zarzuela originated in the Baroque period. In general, early zarzuelas are not well known today. La Zarzuela, Inc. is researching Baroque titles to prepare them for Miami romances starting with the 24-25 season. One of the titles being considered is El Laurel de Ap[olo, one of the earliest examples of the Zarzuela genre.

School is the ideal place for children to first experience the richness of Zarzuela. This afterschool program introduces children to Zarzuela through in-school performances, as well as their own hands-on artistic experiences incorporating music, drama, and poetry .
New Zarzuela Productions
Most zarzuelas have become dated with the passage of time, as contemporary references become unfamiliar. to modern audiences. The change in taste also caused a decrease in the Zarzuela audiences. In order to make some titles viable today, La Zarzuela has created new versions of zarzuelas, keeping the essential elements, and modernizing speech, and references substituting modern equivalents for obscure references. La Zarzuela, Inc. employs state-of-the-art techniques such as mapping, and overhead translations to make productions attractive to today's audiences.
