About the event
The Miami-Dade Public Library Services, in collaboration with La Zarzuela, Inc. present a version of its production of the Zarzuela La Dolorosa (1930). The work, with an original libretto by J.J. Lorente and music by José Serrano, has been adapted for modern audiences by Jorge Arcila and Daniel Daroca. The new version features two new romanzas by Daniel Daroca, and cinematographic and virtual elements created by Jacqueline Solórzano. Inspired by the film “La Dolorosa”, with an updated agile libretto and gorgeous music, the zarzuela follows the love stories of three couples: Dolores and Rafael, Rosita and Pablito, and Juana and José. A story of redemption, La Dolorosa ends with a meaningful happy ending.
